Q1:I have searched through my local auto junk yards and found a curiosity. There sitting in the mud lay an old car called an Opel. Would you believe it uses a SOLEX 2barrel carburator? I would have to return to the junkyard to get the exact specs of the carb but does anyone know about these carbs? Can they be used on a 1600cc aircooled VW? How much extra horsepower would this add? Can it be rigged in a dual carb fashion for yet more hp? Not to mention, in my opinion it would be a nice addition of power while still using the original SOLEX brand that VW's genius engineers chose (probably due to ease of tuning and reliability). Q2:The question regards using a V6 Corvair engine in a VW based and bodied Karman Ghia. I know it's not an "Aircooler" but for drag racing this could be easy POWER. Anybody want to tackle this one? | TECH Q&A | ||||||||||||||||
